One Thousand Flowers produces an array of media art such as short docs, music videos, feature documentaries, video installations and projections.

MILLEFIORE CLARKES
Millefiore Clarkes is an award-winning filmmaker from Canada’s smallest province, Epekwitk/Prince Edward Island. Through her company One Thousand Flowers Productions she creates a variety of media work: short and feature documentaries, experimental shorts, music videos, and video installations. She received the 2019 DOC Institute’s Vanguard Award, and the 2024 WIFT-AT Wave Award, for her work as a documentarian and dedication to community. She sits on the board of directors for the Documentary Organization of Canada (Atlantic Chapter) and regularly organizes screenings and events for filmmakers in her community. She spearheaded the Breakthrough Program which is a mentorship program for BIPOC-identifying emerging documentary filmmakers in Atlantic Canada.
She has directed four short to mid-length documentaries for The National Film Board of Canada: THE SONG AND THE SORROW, LOVE IN QUARANTINE, BLUE RODEO - ON THE ROAD, and ISLAND GREEN. THE SONG AND THE SORROW won Best Short Atlantic Documentary at The Atlantic International Film Festival (AIFF), Best Documentary at Silverwave Film Festival, Best Atlantic Doc at Lunenburg Doc Fest, and Best Mid Length Doc at The Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival. It opened the Rendezvous with Madness Festival and was featured as part of the Hot Docs Mental Health Festival.
Her recent works SOLASTALGIA won Best Canadian Short at the Silverwave Film Festival 2019, LOVE IN QUARANTINE won Best Non-Fiction Short at Yorkton Film Festival 2021, GRANDMOTHERS won Best Atlantic Short Documentary at AIFF 2022, and EVELYN won Best of the Fest and Best Short Doc at Yorkton IFF 2024, Best Atlantic Score at AIFF 2023 and Audience Choice Award at Dawson City ISFF 2024. Her short experimental piece, AN IMPRESSION OF EVERYTHING was selected for the Telefilm Not Short on Talent at the Cannes Short Film Corner in 2024. Her films have screened at festivals internationally and have been broadcast on CBC, Prime, AppleTV, and Bravo! Her experimental short December in Toronto is featured on Vimeo’s Staff Picks, and her music videos have won a number of awards.
She is passionate about making films that connect us to one another and to nature.
